Photos: DAVID TATE Making it happen: Organisers and supporters include, from left: Springboard staff members Josh Port, Jenna Hilton, Lifeway College representative and master of ceremonies Pete Meafou, Springboard youth member Carl Bader, staff member Lindsay Pahl, youth rep Taylor Chenery, staff Helldon Holdsworth, Springboard director Gary Diprose, youth aid officer John Williams, event co-ordinator Kate Brereton and helper Duncan Napier, Bayleys auctioneer Gary Caldwell and Warkworth senior sergeant Bede Haughey. About 200 people attended a Springboard dinner and auction at Snells Beach which raised more than $26,000 for youth programmes and facili- ties. The Snells Beach Community Centre was beautifully set out to accommodate diners, and a live auction as well as a silent auction. Everything was well organised, with the National Bank providing eftpos facilities. Delighted by the com- munity response, busi- ness donations and the overall atmosphere, Springboard director Gary Diprose says the money will be used to continue work with at- risk youngsters in the community. Springboard officially opens it Snells Beach premises on November 23 from 9.30am to 11.30am, with supporters, sponsors and families who have been with the organisation the past eight years attending.
