Visit bloomin' great shows A FLORAL PARADISE It's 90 years since the Warkworth and District Rose and Flower Show started. Apart from the war years, it has been held continuously. The Warkworth Town Hall is transformed into a floral paradise on November 12 from noon to 5pm. Four classes with monetary prizes include two new ones -- Romantic Dining Table Centrepiece and Photo of Garden Flower. The other two classes are First Ever Entry of a Rose and Sculpture Made from Vegetable(s). There will also be raffles and trading tables. Schedules are available from the Warkworth i-Site and the Warkworth and Mahurangi East libraries. The Fabulous Annual Flower Show run by the Whangaparaoa Horticul- tural Society is on tomorrow and Saturday at the Whangaparaoa Hall from 2pm to 4pm and 9am to 3.15pm respectively. Entry costs $2 at the door. Exhibits include roses, vegetables, general flowers and foliage, house plants, natives, floral art and a children s section. Refreshments are available and there will be a trading table. Rodney MP Lockwood Smith will open the show at 2pm tomorrow. Public entries are wel- come at no cost but should be in by today.
