Photos: TICIANA FETTERMANN About 10 orcas were spotted feeding on stingrays in Mahurangi Harbour on Sunday, including two big males and some females with calves. There for the whole day, they eventually headed back out through the harbour entrance at around 7pm. Mahurangi West resi- dent Sarah Ransom, whose home overlooks the harbour, says they regularly see orcas at the beginning of summer and again at the end. They don't hang about but it's wonderful to see them as we know summer is on the way.'' A similar number of orcas with young were spotted in Kawau Bay off Algies Bay and Snells Beach last weekend.
