Police remind those travel- ling on the roads over New Year to ensure if they are drinking they have a safe way to get home. Check your vehicle before leaving home, drive to the conditions and take care with speed, they say. Police have reduced the speed tolerance from 10kmh to 5kmh until January 5. More police are on the roads with increased alcohol enforcement. The NZ Trans- port Agency expects traffic volumes on State Highway 1 will increase by almost half during peak times during New Year.
