' Veronica Dullabh Constable Darren Russell of the High- way Patrol Unit receives this week's bouquet from Flowers by Joanne. Darren assisted Veronica Dullabh when her six- month-old baby became seriously ill late one December night. My baby's tem- perature dropped and I rushed to Coastcare in Red Beach, thinking it shut at 10pm, but found they closed at 8pm,'' she says. I live in rural Dairy Flat, and was driving back past BP in Silverdale on my way to try and find another medi- cal emergency clin- ic when I saw the officer's car and told him the situ- ation.'' Darren examined the baby and escorted Veronica and her child to North Shore Hos- pital, using his lights to get them through intersec- tions quickly. Veronica's baby was treated quickly by paramedics at the hospital. While they were being seen to, Darren moved Veronica's car so it was parked legally. Thanks a bunch constable Russell,'' Veronica says. Email your Thanks a Bunch nomin- ations to g.dobson@ snl.co.nz.
